COVID-19: Gov Ortom Calls For One Month Prayer & Fasting

The Benue state Governor, Mr Samuel Ortom has declared a one month prayer and fasting as COVID-19 pandemic continues its rage across the globe.

Ortom made the declaration in Makurdi, the Benue State capital in a meeting with contingent of stakeholders to include, royal fathers, spiritual leaders, public officials, medical practitioners, community leaders, women and youth groups among others.

He stated that it has became very imperative for the state to look up to God Almighty for protection and deliverance since the virus has defy all known medical practices an approaches, reasoning that since no known vaccines and drugs have been discovered, the known and best solution at the time is God.

Meanwhile, the governor calls on the people of the state to continue observing the advice by medical professionals such as hand washing, nose mask coverage, social distancing, drinking of water regularly, avoid crowded environment among others.

Benue is among states with one incident of the virus.
