Chairman House Committee on Health and Member representing Bakasi State Constituency at the Cross River State House Assembly Dr. Ekpo Ekpo Bassey has praise the appointment of Benjamin Ene as Special Adviser on Marine Security.
Ekpo while congratulating Governor Ben Ayade on the gesture stated that the move will usher peace to the restive environment and promote marine activities within and outside Bakassi.
According to him “this appointment is timely, and I know that with that office giving to him, we are going to achieve sanity and security in our marine territory” he stressed.
Admitting that though they have been a lot of disturbances in the area, the lawmaker posited that with the appointment of Mr. Ene, economic and social activities are going to be on the rise paving way for more business and tourism activities to the maritime area.
He maintained that with the state government’s position on water transportation as a means of generating income, appointing Ene will go a long way to attract investors to the area by leveraging on the knowledge and experience of the area to bring back the needed peace, growth and development.
Dr Ekpo call on the youths to rally around Mr. Benjamin Ene to achieve the well deserve peace and development to the area.
Benjamin Ene, a former militant leader otherwise known as G1 was the leader and member of the defunct Bakassi Strike Force which surrendered their arms to the Nigeria Military heralding the end of the struggle and receive amnesty in December 2018.
The appointment was contained in statement issued on Wednesday, January 15th 2020 by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita.
Mr. Ene is among the 90 Senior Special Advisers and Special Advisers appointed by the Governor.
