Northern senatorial district of Cross River State is completely shutout of information dissemination owing to the total breakdown of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation Buster Station in Obudu Range Resort for years going.
“Unfortunately we can’t help the situation now because we are even struggling to keep the Udukpani station which is practically sustaining the Calabar main station, the Calabar transmitter is completely bad as at the moment”
This assertion was made by the acting General Manager of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC) Mr. Inyang Ndem during the 2020 budget defence at the Cross River State House of Assembly, Calabar.
Mr. Ndem while reeling out some of the challenges faced by the Corporation said the lack of funds allotted to the media organization has hampered the smooth running of administration.
He stated that the situation has become so bad that the corporation has no official car to convey either staff of equipment to different assigned places when there is need.
Ndem said though he understands the need for state’s own credible information to be disseminated to other parts of the state, whereas the strength to sustain the buster station became impotent hence the need to shut it down.
